What is Anomalous Experiences?

Anomalous Experiences is a community where people share and discuss unusual or unexplained experiences. These may include near death experiences, lucid dreams, apparitions, precognition, strange coincidences, and other events that do not easily fit into conventional explanations.

The goal of the platform is discussion, exploration, and respectful exchange of perspectives.

The platform does not claim that any experience is proven or verified.

Who can post?

Anyone with an account can create posts, comment, and participate in discussions.

How do posts work?

Users can create posts to:

  • Share a personal experience
  • Ask a question
  • Start a discussion
  • Share resources such as books, papers, or research

Posts can receive:

  • upvotes
  • downvotes
  • comments

What are points?

Points are a reputation system that reflects community participation.

Points are earned through:

  • Post upvote: +5
  • Comment upvote: +2
  • Post created: +1
  • Comment created: +1
  • Follower gained: +1

Points help highlight active and helpful members of the community.

Do downvotes remove points?

No.

Downvotes affect how posts are ranked in the feed but they do not subtract points from the author.

How are posts ranked?

Posts can be sorted by:

  • New
  • Top
  • Trending

Trending posts are typically those receiving the most engagement from the community.

What are Groups?

Groups are thematic spaces dedicated to specific topics or types of experiences.

Examples include:

  • Near Death Experiences
  • Lucid Dreams
  • Apparitions
  • Precognition
  • Resources
  • Experiments

Each group focuses discussions on a particular topic.

What is the Community page?

The Community page allows users to discover:

  • Groups
  • Members

Users can browse people in the community and follow members they find interesting.

How do I report a post?

If you see a post or comment that violates the community rules, click the three-dot menu on the post and select "Report".

Reports are reviewed by moderators.

What happens after a report?

Reported content enters a moderation queue where moderators can:

  • ignore the report
  • remove the content
  • warn the user
  • temporarily suspend the user
  • permanently ban the user

Can users be banned?

Yes.

Users who repeatedly violate the Community Guidelines may receive:

  • a warning
  • a temporary suspension
  • a permanent ban

Can I delete my account?

Yes.

You can delete your account from the profile settings page.

When an account is deleted, posts and comments remain on the platform but the author name is replaced with "Deleted user".

Is the platform scientific?

The platform hosts discussions about experiences.

Posts represent personal reports and opinions from users.

The platform does not verify or confirm the truth of experiences shared by users.

Is the platform anonymous?

Users may choose usernames and avatars.

Real identity is not required to participate.
